JULY THE NAB TOWER RACE & SAIL TO HASLAR MARINA

Sunday 16th (Chi HW 11.39) The Nab Tower (informal) Race

This is an opportunity for cruiser members to either take part in a sail / race in company to the Nab Tower and then onto Portsmouth Harbour, or to sail directly to Haslar Marinafor an overnight stay at this conveniently located marina.

This is a rally for boats of all sizes, and shapes but would be great for those less experienced skippers who may be new to rallying and are looking for a straightforward sail down with the tide to an easy to access marina, located just inside the entrance to Portsmouth Harbour.

For those not familiar with Haslar Marina, and the nearby area, there is plenty on offer a trip over to Gunwharf with its many shops, bars and restaurants or a chance to visit some of the local naval attractions.

For the racers this will be a White Sails (only) Race with an approximate start time of 10.30 from West Pole Chichester to the finishing line at Horse Sand Fort - looking to arrive at Haslar Marina for about 17.00. There will then be drinks on the pontoon followed by a celebratory dinner at the Castle Tavern Pub - departing for home with the tide on Monday morning.

For those boats not based in Chichester Harbour there is always the option to anchor off overnight at East Head the night before, with maybe a get together on the beach for a pre-race drink.
